God's Promise: Power
Jericho Falls: Joshua 6
We have been reading the story of Joshua as he led the Israelites into the Promised Land. While we read, we will discover some of God's promises to us along the way.
Today we learned:
God promises to give us the power we need to obey Him and live according to His plan.

Read Today's story comes from Joshua 6. Read it from the Bible or your favorite story Bible. There are also some great Joshua story books that tell his story.
Talk It's so easy to talk about Jericho and make the story about the Israelites. But this story tells us so much about God! God was the one who knocked down the wall, He kept His promise to His people and gave them the Promised Land. God has so much power and gives us the power we need to obey Him. Talk about ways God gives us power to obey (for kids think about when it's hard to share toys, when they want to be unkind to their sibling or friends, or times they have wanted to disobey you).
Do Use blocks or pillows to build a big wall. Then roll up some paper to look like trumpets. March around the wall and blow your trumpets. See if the wall will tumble down!
