Trace the Wall

2019Mixed Media InstallationSize VariableArts Tropical, Okinawa, Japan

Trace the Wall is a development of Metabolism of the Wall.

Yagi transported the wall from Manila, Philippines to Okinawa, Japan in two different ways. One was to draw the traces of the wall of Manila on the wall in Okinawa. Another was to transplant the pieces of the old paint of the wall in Manila onto the wall in Okinawa.

The video of rehearsal and performance at Load na Dito with Bunny Cadag and James Harvey Estrada was projected and overlapped on the drawing. As a part of installation, pieces of paint from Manila were also put under a pillow.
