Kanade Yagi is a visual artist and organizer, born in Japan and currently based in the Philippines. Since 2013, she has undertaken residency projects in the Philippines and Indonesia. In 2016, she began researching spirituality and creativity in the Philippines, visiting folk healers across the country to study the diagnostic tools they use and the social beliefs that shape their practices. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Yagi relocated her base to Siquijor Island, one of her former research fields. There, she continues her research on healers while also fostering locally rooted cultural initiatives, organizing film screenings and a community information zine project in collaboration with local and visiting artists.
