Reclaiming the ground mirrors many of the qualities of Groundscapes, but was worked on individually by me, opposed to a group project. The project remains as a sports and leisure pavilion on the Arkansas River of Little Rock, AR. The campus-like spacing of the buildings is lifted up onto a wooden deck, separate from the ground. The deck was made slightly smaller, and circulation throughout the site more direct and clear. A bar/cafe was added to the second floor, as well as spaces for trees to grow through the bridge.
More details of the project were developed, such as the metal cladding of the envelope, access to connecting trails, and circulation paths. Consultants for structure and HVAC were met with to determine the best ways to handle integrated systems into the project. The final step was detailing heavily the joints of the project, and making a large section model of critical spaces.
