Before your scheduled tee time:
Check in: at least 40 minutes
At the first tee: at least 10 minutes
Check-In: Please arrive at the course at least 40 minutes before your tee time. There are 2 parts of check-in -- pay your fees in the Pro Shop and then check-in for the league in the Grille Room.
Pro Shop: Pay your green fee (and cart fee if you are not walking) in the Pro Shop.
Grille Room: Place a checkmark next to your name on the Tee Time Sheet to let others in your foursome know that you are there. Obtain scorecards and check handicaps in the binder. If someone from your group has already done this they will note “have cards” next to their name.
Prepare Both Scorecards: Prepare a Juniper Hill scorecard (gross scores only) and a JHWGL scorecard (game of the week) with the last names with first name or initial of all the players in your group. The JHWGL scorecard must be stroked correctly if that week's tournament requires it.
Find Your Group: If you are riding a cart, collect your clubs from your car and return to the front of the clubhouse. If you are walking, bring your gear to the front of the clubhouse. At the front of the clubhouse, look for the other members of your group.
Be on the First Tee at Least 10 Minutes Before Scheduled Time: Some ladies like to use the putting green before venturing out. Some prefer to just go to the first tee. Whatever your preference, make sure you are at the first tee at least 10 minutes before your scheduled tee time. Sometimes they let us go out early.
Complete both scorecards
Maximum 9 on each hole (pick up after 8 strokes and mark and "X" on the card)
Complete Both Scorecards Throughout the Round: One person will record gross scores for the foursome on a Juniper Hill scorecard. Another person will keep scores that reflect the game of the day on JHWGL scorecards. Submit both cards to the Tournament Committee at the end of the round. We recommend that each player also keep their own score on a Juniper Hill scorecard to compare scores at the end of the round, enter into GHIN, and complete the ringer card.
Scorecard Completion: Both cards need to have legible scores on each hole, with handicaps, and final scores for each player. Both cards must be accurate (check your math...), attested and dated. The Tournament Committee may disqualify any player who signs an incorrect scorecard, or whose card is illegible.
Weekly Game Completion and Pick-Up Rule: Every hole must be played in order to participate in a weekly game. It is a league rule to pick-up after 8 strokes and mark an "X" which counts as 9 (our maximum score) for any given hole. Picking up does not disqualify you from the weekly game. The Tournament Committee takes your full gross score as played and the net score for that hole will be 9 minus your handicap strokes.
Turn in both scorecards to the Tournament Committee
Enter your score into GHIN
Submit Both Scorecards: Submit both completed and attested scorecards to the Tournament Committee at the end of the round.
Input Scores into GHIN: You need to post your score to GHIN the same day of play (or as soon as possible) per USGA rules. Timely posting is necessary to keep our flights and competition fair. Note that handicaps for each course are updated on the 1st and 15th of each month, so timely score posting is essential. You can post your score to GHIN using the kiosk in the Pro Shop, logging into GHIN from your computer (https://www.ghin.com/login), or use the GHIN app on your phone (this is really convenient!). We recommend that you use the hole-by-hole method because the system will automatically calculate the maximum score per hole and make appropriate downward adjustments. Failure to post a score by Friday will result in a reminder from the Tournament Committee. If a score is not posted promptly, the member may be suspended and not allowed to play the next week. Special tournaments such as Juniper Cup and League Championship games need to be entered in the GHIN system as "C" for Competition play.
Scores for an Incomplete Round: You must post your score even if you are disqualified (by choice or decision). A 9-hole score must be posted if 9 holes were played. If fewer than 9 holes were played, the score cannot be entered into GHIN. For 10-17 holes played, the score must be entered as hole-by-hole for those holes played, and the remaining holes left blank. GHIN will make the adjustments to make it equivalent to an 18-hole round.
