Every year we host a Charity Day to benefit a selected charity in our community. This is not a separate event, but rather a special addition to one of our league play weeks. Charity Day has become an annual tradition of collective generosity to give back to our community.
This year we selected NEADS as our charity. We collected cash and checks to benefit NEADS World Class Service Dogs before and after our league play on September 8.
The results were amazing! We had 28 league members donate prior to the Charity Day and on the day of the event. We were pleased to send checks totaling $1,890 to NEADS.

Here is some information from the NEADS website (NEADS.org):
NEADS Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was established in 1976 and has trained more than 2,000 Service Dog teams since its founding. NEADS breeds, raises, and trains Service Dogs for people – including veterans – with physical disabilities or hearing loss, and children with autism and other developmental disabilities. NEADS Facility Dogs are paired with professionals in classrooms, courthouses, hospitals, and other therapeutic settings.

Brenda Barry's nieghbor is a NEADS Weekend Puppy Raiser. Lola is only a few months old and expects to graduate from the program in 2 years.
