Charity Day
Tuesday September 1
Tuesday September 1
Every year we host a Charity Day to benefit a selected charity in our community. This is not a separate event, but rather a special addition to one of our league play weeks. Charity Day has become an annual tradition of collective generosity to give back to our community.
This year we have selected NEADS as our charity. We will be collecting cash and checks to benefit NEADS World Class Service Dogs before and after our league play on September 1. Checks should be made payable to NEADS.
The average cost of raising and training a NEADS dog is over $45,000
A service dog learns to perform 50 to 60 tasks and commands
Here is some information from the NEADS website (NEADS.org):
"NEADS (“NEADS Inc”, formerly known as National Education for Assistance Dog Services and Dogs for Deaf and Disabled Americans), is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was established in 1976 and has trained over 1,900 Service Dog teams since its founding."
