If you notice 2 or more of these regularly, consider booking a supervision check-in:
Dreading sessions or certain clients
Feeling numb, irritable, or disconnected
Trouble sleeping or switching off after work
Struggling with task avoidance (e.g., notes, emails)
Feeling guilty for taking breaks or needing rest
Withdrawing from team support or meetings
Thinking “I’m not good enough” or “I’m failing”
Step outside and breathe for 3 mins
Write down 3 things you’ve done well today
Do a 3-minute body scan or stretching
Play your favourite music
Call or message a colleague
Change your environment (e.g. work from another room)
Move your body (walk, shake, stretch)
Journal the emotion with no filter
Sip a warm drink mindfully
✅ Schedule protected admin blocks
✅ Say “no” or “not this week” when needed
✅ Debrief challenging sessions in supervision
✅ Check your boundaries (Are you working overtime?)
✅ Do something non-therapy related that recharges you
