Club sponsors mini-debate
The three candidates for the Division 4 circuit judge’s position in the 2nd Judicial District debated issues in their race Jan. 14 during a meeting of the Kiwanis Club. The candidates are (from left) Deputy Prosecutor Andrew Nadzam; the incumbent, Judge Doug Brimhall; and Greene County District Judge Curtis Hitt. The moderator was Dr. Ron Sitton, assistant professor of multimedia journalism at Arkansas State University. The 2nd Judicial District covers Clay, Craighead, Crittenden, Greene, Mississippi and Poinsett counties.
Fourth annual Christmas Party
Members and guests of the Kiwanis Club of Greater Jonesboro celebrated Christmas in mid-December with a party at The Parsonage. This was our fourth annual party at the restaurant, and as always Chef John, Ramey and staff did a great job with the food, decorations and hospitality.
New member inducted
Lori Norris was officially inducted into the club during the club's Christmas Party. Pinning on her membership badge is Vice President Johnny Sweet, while President Jimmy Franklin reads the induction script. Her sponsor was Brandon Brewer.
Kiwanian of the Year for 2025

New K-Kids club

2025 Kiwanis scholarship recipients
The Kiwanis Club of Greater Jonesboro in May announced six recipients of its 2025 B.H. “Pop” Parrish Scholarships — three of them for $3,000 and three for $500. All students are graduating seniors who will attend Arkansas State University in the fall. Flanked by the club’s Scholarship Committee chairman, Sid Banks (left) and club President Dr. Warren Skaug, they are (from left): Hiedi Robinson, Nettleton, daughter of Sherry and Nick Robinson; Isabella “Izzy” Stanton, Jonesboro, daughter of Kristy and John Stanton; Madilyn Kifer, Valley View, daughter of Phillip and Elisa Kifer; Gavin Ellis, Valley View, son of Brian and Angie Ellis; and Jacob Sewers, Valley View, son of Justin and Courtney Wewers. Robinson, Stanton and Kifer are the $3,000 recipients. The Parrish Scholarships are funded from the club’s annual Pancake Breakfast, held the first Saturday in March.
Kiwanian of the year

The award was presented during the annual Awards and Installation Luncheon of the Kiwanis Club of Greater Jonesboro Wednesday. Magee has chaired the club's highly successful Pancake Day for many years.
