Disposiciones iniciales
Artículo 1-02: Objetivos
1.Los objetivos de este Tratado, desarrollados de manera específica a través de sus principios y reglas, incluidos los de trato nacional, trato de nación más favorecida y transparencia, son los siguientes:
(a) estimular la expansión y diversificación del comercio entre las Partes;
(b) eliminar las barreras al comercio y facilitar la circulación de bienes y servicios en la zona de libre comercio;
(c) promover condiciones de competencia leal en la zona de libre comercio;
(d) aumentar sustancialmente las oportunidades de inversión en la zona de libre comercio;
(e) proteger y hacer valer, de manera adecuada y efectiva, los derechos de propiedad intelectual en la zona de libre comercio;
(f) establecer lineamientos para la ulterior cooperación entre las Partes, así como en el ámbito regional y multilateral encaminados a ampliar y mejorar los beneficios de este Tratado; y
(g) crear procedimientos eficaces para la aplicación y cumplimiento de este Tratado, para su administración conjunta y para la solución de controversias.
2. Las Partes interpretarán y aplicarán las disposiciones de este Tratado a la luz de los objetivos establecidos en el párrafo 1 y de conformidad con las normas aplicables del derecho internacional.

Article 1-02: Objectives
1. The objectives of this Agreement, as elaborated more specifically through its principles and rules, including national treatment, most-favoured-nation treatment and transparency, are to:
(a) encourage the expansion and diversification of trade between the Parties;
(b) eliminate barriers to trade and facilitate the movement of goods and services in the free trade area;
(c) promote conditions of fair competition in the free trade area;
(d) increase substantially investment opportunities in the free trade area;
(e) protect and appropriately and effectively enforce intellectual property rights in the free trade area;
(f) establish a framework for further bilateral, regional and multilateral cooperation to expand and enhance the benefits of this Agreement; and
(g) establish effective procedures for the application and observance of this Agreement, for its joint administration and for dispute settlement.
2. The Parties shall interpret and apply the provisions of this Agreement in the light of its objectives set out in paragraph 1 and in accordance with applicable rules of international law.

The translation used in this case was literal translation because it provides the main objectives in a straightforward manner wich are Preservation of Legal Terminology, Clarity and Consistency.

I use modulation since several literal words are used, which are easy to translate, but at the same time, there is a slight change in structure and the use of adjectives in the translation.

For this sentence, I use the trasnposition technique since they are literal words translated, but there is a slight change in the sentence structure from how it is formulated in English to Spanish.
A very important note that should be known about this article is that, as it involves two Spanish-speaking countries, the article is governed in Spanish. However, for the sake of transparency, it can be found in English as well.
