Seamus O'Gorman

Seamus Mark O’Gorman was born on February 14, 1968. He served his apprenticeship with Ian Balding at Kingsclere and rode his first winner on Mailman in a Haydock apprentices’ race on July 7, 1984.

He scored his biggest domestic win on Cantoris in the Tote Credit Sprint Trophy at Ascot on September 28, 1990. His most successful season came in 1992 with 21 wins from 270 mounts.

He scored his most important success when winning the £15,000 Prix du President et Madame Max Dugniolle Handicap on Knock Knock at Ostend in Belgium on August 8, 1993.

Between 2001 and 2006 Seamus rode in Arabian horse races while based in Dubai, recording 30 wins in that sphere.

In 2013 he was one of the finalists in the Rider/Groom category for Godolphin Stud and Stable Staff Awards.
