1: Teaching and Knowing about STEM

After watching the video with Dr. Alison Gopnik, teaching and knowing about STEM is not what I initially thought it would be. Children and babies are in the prime time for learning, they were built to learn. This idea of babies being in the perfect condition to learn is something I never thought of or realized. As an educator, I do not have to work to try and get the students to learn, because they already are learning. They sub-consciously perform math and test hypotheses on their own, which out our guidance. And this just makes becoming a STEM educator that more interesting and rewarding. As an educator, I would be filling this child with the things they were made to learn. They are the perfect students because they were born to learn and to know. By becoming an educator who has learned and known, I can pass that on to the next generation of learners.
