Apprentice Teaching

Apprentice Teaching (AT) is the capstone course and field experience for the UFTeach Minor in Mathematics or Science education. The AT field experience consists of ten weeks working in a local secondary (grades 6-12) math or science classroom under the supervision of a qualified mentor teacher as well as a university supervisor. During this time, ATs create and submit lesson plans each week detailing the standards to be taught, performance-based objectives, student and teacher activities as well as all associated handouts, presentations, and assessments. The objectives and activities assigned are aligned with the State of Florida FEAPs, the standards used to evaluate all beginning teachers in the State of Florida.
