If you live and work in any of the areas above then we would love to hear from you if you are interested in getting involved with any aspect of community activity or growing the local business economy...
There are so many good things going on in our community already, but we could do a lot more.
Some of the things we are doing are overdue an upgrade (new ideas, take a fresh look). Maybe new technology could change the way we do things, so they cost less and are more efficient.
Perhaps though, we are guilty of just leaving what needs doing to a few dedicated souls? ... each and every one of us could contribute in some way. We are talented, resourceful, diverse... and there are lots of us... and there is no shortage of things that need doing.
There are many local resources for businesses in our community already, sometimes it is just a matter of being in the know and being signposted to them.
But we could do so much more if we began to work together as a team. To pool our experience, knowledge and expertise to come up with ideas to improve the local economy for ourselves and support local entrepreneurs. This we call the local Business Development Network. It's already started. If you have a 'Go to Give' disposition then why not get involved?
We could just sit back and continue to let others get on with things... or we could ask, how can I help? ... what is it I could do to make a contribution to making my community a better place? What could I do to be part of building a thriving local business economy which helps everyone?
So shall we get a little more organised and start to take this seriously?
Please get involved... either email : southwesthertsDL@link4growth.biz or ... complete the form on the Contact Us page... remember "if it is going to be it is up to WE"
Whoever you are and whatever your circumstances you can benefit from, or help with, an improved community. We are all part of the community. Everyone of us is important.
Every different part of community has needs. It really doesn't matter who you are or what you are involved in, there is a benefit of being more involved with your local community. From local businesses to one parent family's, from charity's to local sports groups, for those is education or working for local authorities, we can all benefit from coming together and working out ways to improve things... just how? [... more information here]
There are lots of events being held all around the SW Herts district. Community groups meet regularly as do Business Networking organisations.
We host regular community innovation events open to all and free to attend as Link4Growth and also events specifically for businesses as Link4Business. [... more meeting information here]
A vital part of sharing what we are doing locally is the community hub. This enables us to share everything good that is happening locally. The whole website is organic which means we 'the people' can continue to add content and grow our communities without seeking permission or having an editor involved.
Free to use... any one of us can post content... all you need is a Google Account [... more information on the community hub here]
One of the biggest challenges of our era is that the pace of change is so fast. This means that to keep up we have to keep learning.
We are keen to ensure that any local organisations offering great training and education become visible to all, but we are also developing bite sized training that covers gaps in what others offer and that we are constantly being asked about. [... more information on training here]
We need to change, we need to be doing things differently. We only have to look around to see lonely people, homeless people, food banks and other things we moan about constantly. It is easy to pick fault and blame others... we could though... recognise the problems, get together and start to work out how we can improve things.
This is so important we are devising ways to enable these to happen quickly in 2017 [.... more information on Innovate and Create]
