There are many lecture and journal club opportunities around campus. One of the best ways to learn about new ones are the flyers posted in and around elevators! Most departments keep bulletin boards near this area to advertise upcoming events, courses and lecturers.
The School of Medicine and the Office of Research at UC Davis co-host a weekly virtual town hall meeting on Fridays from 10:30 -11:30 am. The weekly meetings address issues related to acute trials, immunity studies, understanding the mechanisms, and other issues. This virtual town hall takes place through a password protected Zoom teleconference.
Our very own IGG seminar series happens every quarter (Fall, Winter and Spring) on Mondays as 4:10 pm at Life Sciences 1022. Each quarter this seminar covers a different topic in genetics and genomics, including plants sciences, animal sciences and human genomics. Young and senior researchers are invited to share their research an interact with graduate students. As part of IGG, you will receive information about speakers in the IGG bulletin.

The Storer Lectureship series is one of the most prestigious seminars on campus. It was established in 1960, inviting distinguished biological scientists to campus to present two lectures and meet with faculty members and graduate students in their field of interest.

The UC Davis MIND Institute’s Distinguished Lecturer Series is now in its 18th season of public lectures by nationally and internationally-recognized researchers in neurodevelopmental disabilities. These monthly presentations (October 2020 - May 2021) are intended for both specialists and community members. All lectures start at 4:30pm and end by 6pm. All lectures are free and open to the public and no reservations are necessary.
