Bio :

Abeer Shakweer is currently an advisor to the Minister of Communications and Information Technology for Social Responsibility and Services and she is responsible for the utilization of ICT for development. She holds a Ph.D., in Engineering and a M.Sc. in Computer Science both from the University of Nottingham, in the UK, and a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from Cairo University.

Dr. Shakweer is also an advisor to Scientific and Innovation at Misr Elkheir Foundation. She previously worked as the Planning and Monitoring Manager at the Science and Technology Development Fund (STDF), and as the executive director for the center for future studies at the Cabinet of Minister’s Information and Decision Support Center.

She participated in several projects including Foresight for the National Technology Transfer Offices in Egypt, Developing the Egyptian Industrial Innovation Strategy; Competitiveness Strategy for Egypt 2030, author of the "Innovation Chapter, Technical ssistance for the Planning and Execution of the EU-Egypt Innovation Fund, with many national and international organizations such as the United Nations and the European Commission.
