Bio :

Amgad Elgohary graduated from the Department of Library and Information Science, Cairo University in 1995. He obtained his master’s degree in Library & Information Science in 2000 from School of Information studies, University of Wisconsin Milwakee, USA. In 2003, he received his PhD in Library and Information Science, with a minor in Marketing Florida State University, USA.

Professor Elgohary has extensive experience in the field of Library and Information science. In 2004, he founded the Egyptian Universities Consortium of Academic Digital Libraries and was its director till 2006. In addition, from 2005 to 2006, he occupied the position of National Coordinator of the project of Reforming Egyptian Scientific Publishing in the Ministry of Higher Education. From 2010 to 2013, he held the position of Chairperson of the Library and Information Science (LIS) Department in Menya University in Egypt. From 2013 till 2014, Professor Elgohary assumed the position of Under-Secretary for the National Library of Egypt. Furthermore, he was the former Egyptian Culture Attaché in the United Arab of Emirates UAE from 2014 -2018. Since January 2019, he is the current Head of Library Sector at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
