Five things spotted from the movie Goliyon ki Raasleela Ram-Leela
1) Philosophically sarcastic
2) Hypocrisy at its best
3) Mesmerizing yet pointless dance
4) Superb performance by casts
5) Sizzling chemistry between the lead actor
Sanjay Leela Bhansali is always known as a calibrated gaffer who prefers spellbinding cinematographic treat and a tragic, eagerly-waited ending with a notable climax and an interval twist. Thus, fair to say if Goliyon ki Raasleela Ram-Leela is a typical movie, of his own. That too because I watched it after I enjoyed Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat. After few years of its release, the film is still relevant to enjoy over and over again.
Goliyon ki Raasleela Ram-Leela is adapted from Shakespeare's Romeo Juliet, telling a story between two tribes who argued for 500 years but love blossoms wildly after one of them fall in love with each other, Ram and Leela. This film is philosophically sarcastic with witty dialogues and brilliant quotes which are popularly known as one of SLB's ace. The film also highlighted about hypocrisy at its supreme moment when Vanka raided Meghji's house only to release them for exchange with Ram's pornographic films. How lust could defy money.
Despite being enormously proud with superb performance by all casts and heroic display by leading actors, I think this film contented too much songs thus making them like, unnecessary even though the dance was scintillating and adorable but at some time it looks utter pointless. The plot was well-intrigued but seems as the numerous songs in it just act as a barrier or some kind of trial to drag the duration of the film. However there are songs that relevant and ear-convincing like Nagada Sang Dhol. In a nutshell, this film is typical and expected by the figure, SLB but the outcome is undeniably terrific and well-played by everyone involved in this gigantic project. It is 8/10 for Goliyon ki Raasleela Ram-Leela.
But the thought of where those blind bullets went to, still searching its answer in my mind. Fictitious.
