Keeping Yaks In The Uk

Trying to keep yaks in the Uk is a costly job. Firstly, they eat loads and they need to be kept warm and dry. Secondly, they have lots of baby yaks called calves and they like to play with them. Finally, it is hard to keep the yaks happy and healthy because they feel homesick if you don't let them go back to their home in Tibet or Mongolia.

The first thing we noticed when we got our baby yak was that its mother always slept next to it. We thought this was a bit odd at first but then we realised that she was keeping it warm and dry so that it didn't get sick or die. This made us think about how we could make our own yaks happy.

We noticed that the yak got depressed when its mother didn't sleep next to it so we decided to put its bed next to our bed so that we could keep an eye on it. This was great for us because now we didn't have to get up every night and check on it and also the yak's mother couldn't get cold anymore because she had a warm place to sleep too!

It is really important not only for us but also for our baby yaks that they feel comfortable in their new home.

The UK is a strange place for keeping yaks. But if you live in the UK, and you have some land, then keeping a yak is an option open to you.
