Analysis Tables

Why do we do analysis tables?

Completing analysis tables is an effective way to separate our thinking and communicating: it allows us to practice developing logical lines of analysis without the added challenge of structuring our ideas into lucid, convincing paragraphs. What's more, the notation form of analysis tables mirrors the ways that we plan our work, so by engaging with analysis tables, we learn how to plan for other types of work.

Use this to practice your analysis. You can do this whenever you interact with a text. For example, if you watch a movie, read a piece of fiction, read a newspaper article, see a poster, a magazine cover, or an advertisement on YouTube, you could complete an analysis table.
