Possible IO Structure

A Note on Structure

There is no required structure for your IO: IB does not mandate that you present your ideas in a specific manner. However, it does test your ability to refer to the texts in a well-balanced manner, focus on how each author's choices present a global issue, and to evaluate the effectiveness of both texts. As a result, some structures will be more effective than others. Have a look at some of the structures on this page and see if they can be adapted for the need of your oral. Remember: the structure of your IO is up to you.

Philpot's Suggested Structure

This is an interesting structure that balances the discussion of all texts and gives the student guidance on the sort of things they should be talking about at each stage. Be aware though that this structure might limit the connections that you make between the texts.
