HMPS IKS - Kolaborasi Organisasi Mahasiswa Kesejahteraan Sosial: Studi Banding HMPS IKS UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta dan HIMA PEKSOS Poltekesos Bandung
Himpunan Mahasiswa Program Studi Ilmu Kesejahteraan Sosial (HMPS IKS) UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta sukses menyelenggarakan kegiatan Studi Banding bersama Himpunan Mahasiswa Pekerjaan Sosial (HIMA PEKSOS) Poltekesos Bandung dengan mengusung tema "Eksplorasi Kolaboratif, Membuka Peluang Baru melalui Pertukaran, Pengalaman, Pengetahuan, dan Wawasan dalam Organisasi."
Kegiatan yang berlangsung secara online melalui platform Zoom Meeting ini dimulai pukul 09.00 hingga 12.00 WIB dan diikuti secara antusias oleh para anggota kedua organisasi mahasiswa.
Acara dibuka oleh Friska Nurinda selaku pemandu acara dan dilanjutkan dengan menyanyikan lagu kebangsaan Indonesia Raya. Sambutan pertama disampaikan oleh Ketua Pelaksana, Sami Baihaqi, yang mengungkapkan rasa terima kasih kepada seluruh teman-teman yang telah mendukung terselenggarakannya acara ini, khusunya dari HMPS IKS dan HIMA PEKSOS yang telah ikut berpartisipasi. "Harapan saya, semoga kegiatan ini tidak sebatas ajang bertukar pengetahuan dan wawasan, tetapi juga membuka jalan bagi kerja sama yang lebih luas di masa depan," ujarnya.
Dilanjutkan dengan sesi pengenalan organisasi oleh masing-masing ketua himpunan, yakni Afifah Afra, selaku ketua HMPS IKS dan Fathia Salsabila, selaku ketua HIMA PEKSOS. Sebelumnya, dalam kesempatan tersebut, keduanya menyampaikan rasa terima kasih atas terselenggaranya kegiatan studi banding yang mempertemukan dua organisasi mahasiswa se-visi ini. Selain itu, mereka juga memaparkan secara singkat profil organisasi serta program kerja unggulan dari masing-masing himpunan.
Sesi selanjutnya adalah pemaparan materi yang menghadirkan narasumber utama, Bapak Watsiq Yasar, seorang pekerja sosial milenial yang memiliki interest pada isu keluarga dan anak, beliau juga menjabat sebagai sekretaris umum di organisasi Independen Pekerja Sosial Profesional Indonesia (IPSPI).
Dalam pemateriannya, beliau menekankan pentingnya peran pekerja sosial di tengah kompleksitas persoalan sosial masyarakat. Bapak Watsiq sendiri menjelaskan sejarah IPSPI yang dulu kepanjangan dari Ikatan Pekerja Sosial Profesional Indonesia, saat ini berubah nama menjadi Independen Pekerja Sosial Profesional Indonesia adalah induk organisasi profesi pekerja sosial yang bersifat independen dan nirlaba yang berdiri di Jakarta sejak tanggal 19 Agustus 1998.
Beliau juga menjelaskan tujuan dari organisasi IPSPI, yakni untuk mewadahi serta memperkuat profesionalisme para pekerja sosial di Indonesia. Berbagai upaya telah dilakukan oleh IPSPI, mulai dari pelatihan profesi, sertifikasi kompetensi, hingga advokasi dalam pelayanan sosial. Lebih dari itu, beliau menegaskan bahwa mahasiswa juga memiliki peran penting sebagai agen perubahan, advokat, penggerak sosial, pengawas kritis, dan pemberdaya masyarakat. Penjelasan mengenai 12 Pemerlu Atesi Sosial (PAS) semakin membuka wawasan peserta mengenai kelompok rentan yang membutuhkan pendampingan, mulai dari fakir miskin, anak yang berada dalam situasi sulit, penyandang disabilitas, masyarakat yang berpenghasilan rendah, penyintas Napza, perempuan rentan, kelompok afirmatif, warga binaan, lansia terlantar, bermasalah sosial, hingga korban bencana.
Setelah pemaparan materi selesai, kemudian penyerahan sertifikat dan foto bersama pemateri. Acara dilanjutkan dengan sesi breakout room yang membagi peserta ke dalam lima kelompok sesuai divisi organisasi masing-masing untuk berdiskusi dan bertukar program kerja.
Setelah selesai berdiskusi dengan kelompoknya masing-masing, dilanjutkan presentasi hasil diskusi, dimulai dari kelompok A (BPH & KPK – membahas Keorganisasian dan Leadership). Diskusi kelompok ini menyoroti bagaimana organisasi mahasiswa dapat berjalan efektif dengan kepemimpinan yang visioner. Mereka menekankan pentingnya kolaborasi setiap divisi serta pola komunikasi yang sehat agar kepemimpinan tidak hanya bersifat struktural, tetapi juga inspiratif.
Selanjutnya, kelompok B (Divisi PSDM, PSDO, PSDM Aresda – membahas warga binaan, korban Napza & HIV/AIDS, masyarakat berpendapatan rendah). Kelompok ini mengaitkan tema dengan realitas sosial yang dihadapi kelompok rentan. Mereka menekankan peran mahasiswa dalam memberikan dukungan sosial, advokasi kesehatan, serta menciptakan program pemberdayaan ekonomi yang sesuai kebutuhan masyarakat berpenghasilan rendah.
Setelah itu, kelompok C (Divisi Intelektual & P2K2 – membahas afirmasi khusus, fakir miskin, kelompok bermasalah sosial). Hasil diskusi menekankan pentingnya kepekaan sosial mahasiswa untuk terlibat dalam isu afirmasi khusus dan kelompok miskin. Mereka menyarankan adanya program penguatan kapasitas masyarakat melalui pendidikan, pendampingan, dan penciptaan ruang partisipasi agar kelompok marginal tidak semakin terpinggirkan.
Kemudian, kelompok D (Divisi Humas & Advokasi, Aresda, Soslingmas – membahas difabel, korban kekerasan, korban bencana). Diskusi berfokus pada peran advokasi mahasiswa dalam melindungi hak-hak difabel, korban kekerasan, dan penyintas bencana. Mereka menekankan pendekatan humanis, pendampingan hukum, serta strategi komunikasi publik yang berpihak pada kelompok rentan, sejalan dengan semangat kolaborasi organisasi mahasiswa.
Terakhir, kelompok E (Divisi Media & Medbrand – Anak rentan, lansia terlantar, perempuan rentan). Kelompok ini menyoroti peran media sebagai sarana kampanye sosial. Mereka mengusulkan agar mahasiswa menggunakan platform digital untuk menyuarakan isu perlindungan anak, pemenuhan hak lansia, serta pemberdayaan perempuan, sehingga tercipta kesadaran kolektif di masyarakat.
Menjelang penutupan, sesi kesan dan pesan oleh saudari Verlita Alesya dari perwakilan HMPS IKS menyampaikan bahwa kegiatan ini memberikan banyak pengalaman berharga sekaligus memperluas relasi. Menurutnya, hasil dari studi banding ini tidak boleh berhenti sebatas pengetahuan, tetapi perlu diimplementasikan untuk meningkatkan kualitas program kerja. "Kami juga berharap komunikasi dan kerja sama yang sudah terjalin dapat terus dipertahankan bahkan dikembangkan ke arah yang lebih luas," ujarnya.
Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi langkah awal mempererat hubungan antara HMPS IKS dan HIMA PEKSOS serta ruang untuk berbagi pengalaman, memperkuat jejaring, dan melatih kemampuan kolaborasi lintas organisasi mahasiswa.

HMPS IKS - Collaboration between Social Welfare Student Organizations: Comparative Study of HMPS IKS UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta and HIMA PEKSOS Poltekesos Bandung
The Social Welfare Study Program Student Association (HMPS IKS) at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta successfully held a comparative study with the Social Work Student Association (HIMA PEKSOS) at Poltekesos Bandung with the theme "Collaborative Exploration, Opening New Opportunities through Exchange, Experience, Knowledge, and Insights in Organizations."
The event, which took place online via the Zoom Meeting platform, ran from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. WIB and was enthusiastically attended by members of both student organizations.
The event was opened by Friska Nurinda as the host and continued with the singing of the Indonesian national anthem, Indonesia Raya. The first speech was delivered by the Chief Executive, Sami Baihaqi, who expressed his gratitude to all friends who had supported the event, especially HMPS IKS and HIMA PEKSOS who had participated. “My hope is that this activity will not only be a forum for exchanging knowledge and insights, but also open the way for broader cooperation in the future,” he said.
This was followed by an introduction to each organization by their respective chairpersons, Afifah Afra, chairperson of HMPS IKS, and Fathia Salsabila, chairperson of HIMA PEKSOS. Previously, during the event, both expressed their gratitude for the comparative study that brought together these two like-minded student organizations. In addition, they also briefly presented the profiles of their organizations and the flagship programs of each association.
The next session was a presentation by the main speaker, Mr. Watsiq Yasar, a millennial social worker who is interested in family and children's issues. He also serves as the general secretary of the Independent Indonesian Professional Social Workers Organization (IPSPI).
In his presentation, he emphasized the importance of the role of social workers amid the complexity of social issues in society. Mr. Watsiq himself explained the history of IPSPI, which used to stand for the Indonesian Professional Social Workers Association, but has now changed its name to the Independent Indonesian Professional Social Workers Association. It is an independent and non-profit professional social worker organization that was established in Jakarta on August 19, 1998.
He also explained the objectives of the IPSPI organization, which are to accommodate and strengthen the professionalism of social workers in Indonesia. Various efforts have been made by IPSPI, ranging from professional training, competency certification, to advocacy in social services. Furthermore, he emphasized that students also have an important role as agents of change, advocates, social activists, critical observers, and community empowerers. The explanation of the 12 Social Assistance Recipients (PAS) further broadened the participants' understanding of vulnerable groups who need assistance, ranging from the poor, children in difficult situations, people with disabilities, low-income communities, drug survivors, vulnerable women, affirmative groups, inmates, neglected elderly people, people with social problems, to disaster victims.
After the presentation of the material was completed, certificates were handed out and a group photo was taken with the speakers. The event continued with a breakout room session that divided participants into five groups according to their respective organizational divisions to discuss and exchange work programs.
After finishing discussions with their respective groups, the presentation of discussion results continued, starting with group A (BPH & KPK – discussing Organization and Leadership). This group discussion highlighted how student organizations can run effectively with visionary leadership. They emphasized the importance of collaboration between each division and healthy communication patterns so that leadership is not only structural but also inspirational.
Next, group B (PSDM, PSDO, PSDM Aresda Divisions – discussing foster children, victims of drugs and HIV/AIDS, low-income communities). This group linked the theme to the social realities faced by vulnerable groups. They emphasized the role of students in providing social support, health advocacy, and creating economic empowerment programs that meet the needs of low-income communities.
After that, group C (Intellectual & P2K2 Division – discussing special affirmation, the poor, and socially disadvantaged groups). The discussion results emphasized the importance of students' social sensitivity to be involved in issues of special affirmation and poor groups. They suggested capacity building programs for the community through education, mentoring, and the creation of participatory spaces so that marginalized groups are not further marginalized.
Then, group D (Public Relations & Advocacy Division, Aresda, Soslingmas – discussing people with disabilities, victims of violence, victims of disasters). The discussion focused on the role of student advocacy in protecting the rights of people with disabilities, victims of violence, and disaster survivors. They emphasized a humanistic approach, legal assistance, and public communication strategies that favor vulnerable groups, in line with the spirit of student organization collaboration.
Finally, group E (Media & Medbrand Division – Vulnerable children, neglected elderly, vulnerable women). This group highlighted the role of the media as a means of social campaigning. They proposed that students use digital platforms to voice issues of child protection, fulfillment of the rights of the elderly, and women's empowerment, thereby creating collective awareness in society.
Towards the end, in the impressions and messages session, Ms. Verlita Alesya, representing HMPS IKS, said that this activity provided many valuable experiences and expanded relationships. According to her, the results of this comparative study should not stop at knowledge, but need to be implemented to improve the quality of work programs. “We also hope that the communication and cooperation that has been established can be maintained and even developed further,” she said.
This activity is expected to be the first step in strengthening the relationship between HMPS IKS and HIMA PEKSOS, as well as a space to share experiences, strengthen networks, and train cross-organizational collaboration skills among students.
