When taking actions based on reflective learning, it can be helpful to set specific goals. You could use SMART goals but that framework is less helpful when it comes to planning future learning based on reflection or where there is a degree of uncertainty or unpredictability in what you might do or what the outcomes might be. In those situations, you might not know in advance whether goals will be achievable or how long they might take
An alternative framework is PACT:
Purposeful — How is this goal related to your values and sense of meaning?
Actionable — Is there something within your control that you can do to work towards the goal right now?
Continuous — Are there simple things that you can keep doing and improving as you progress?
Trackable — Is there an easy way of knowing that you are making progress with your goals (things you can tick off)?
