1) Khan Al Khalili
The skinny lanes of Khan Al Khalili are basically a medieval-style mall. This agglomeration of shops - many arranged around small courtyards - stocks everything from soap powder to semiprecious stones, not to mention tacky toy camels and alabaster pyramids.
2) Salah El-Din Citadel
The Citadel served as the city's focal point and a defensive fortification against the imposing heights of the hills that overshadowed it. For 700 years, the Citadel served as the official residence of the Egyptian government.
Luxor, Qena, and Sohag are significant cities in Egypt with rich historical and cultural sites. Luxor, on the site of ancient Thebes, is home to the Luxor and Karnak Temples and the royal tombs of the Valley of the Kings and Queens. Qena is known for the Dendera Temple of Hathor, one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt, and the Abdel Rehim AL Qenawi Mosque. Sohag, a major Coptic Christian area, features the Sohag National Museum, the White Monastery, and the Deir al-Ahmar monastery.

Special places to visit:
1) Karnak Temple in Luxor
Is special for being the largest religious complex in ancient Egypt, built and expanded by over 30 pharaohs. Its most famous feature is the Great Hypostyle Hall, with towering columns covered in hieroglyphs. Other highlights include the Sacred Lake and the Avenue of Sphinxes that once connected it to Luxor Temple.
2) Abu Simbel in Aswan
Stands out for its massive rock-cut temples built by Ramses II. Twice a year, sunlight aligns perfectly to light up the inner sanctuary a stunning example of ancient engineering. The site features four colossal statues of the pharaoh and a unique temple dedicated to Queen Nefertari, both relocated in the 1960s to save them from flooding.
