Like all good holiday murder mysteries, “Murderer’s Role’” has some winter slaying. And the Saranac Lake Elk’s Club is prepared for the festive spotlight on December 10.
The business manager for the band ‘Murderer’s Role’ was found dead over the top of one of the band’s amps. The amp was turned up to 13, but Dirk ‘the demon’ Dastard will eventually be six feet under. Well, that is when the ground unfreezes it is Saranac Lake after all. This leaves time for an audience of detectives to solve the mystery.
Band manager DirkDastard was not liked by many, but when the band found out he was cutting into their profits, one of them made sure he had an encore on the afterlife stage.
This was right when they were recording their holiday album: “Rock Around the Slay Bell”
The cause of death is being investigated, but everyone in the band had at least one reason/motive and more than enough opportunity. The entire band was all ready to say goodbye to ‘the demon’ : Hiddy Hoeh (singer, Megan Land), Elf Wiedershen (bass guitar, Jon Fremante), Goober ‘Goo’ Bie (drummer, Jameson Batt), Al Lohah (lead guitar, Doug Fransen), and Addie Ose (stage tech, Janeen Streeter) all are suspect not to mention probable murderers.
“Murderer’s Role” -- the band and the play --- is the Spinal Tap of murder mysteries.
The audience will watch as the first act unfolds. Each character's motive for killing will be revealed. Then the audience becomes investigators. They will be in charge of going to clue sites to interview the suspects, and finding the murderer. Only the smartest of the investigators will be able to see through a false alibi. Often, the best sleuth is the man or woman who doesn’t ask a single question, but watches as each character tries to squirm their way into an alibi.
The only way this case will be solved is if the audience can outwit the suspects and solve this endeavor in musical discord. If you aren’t there, who knows what will happen?
