The ‘Unusual Suspects’ will re-unite at the Inn on Gore Mountain in North Creek on October 3, 2016 at 7:04 p.m. in the play “Death of Drama”
“Death of Drama” starts out like all comedy capers, with a murder. The main director for all productions of the Antler Lake Community Theatre (ALCT) was found dead, center stage, in bad lighting.
The cast will feature some of the best actors in the Adirondack Region, that have been involved in past Gem*Boy shows. With fabulous ad-libing during the interviews.
Staring in the show are Kim Smith, Hannah Jay, Barbara Westbrook, Molly Smith, Robin Jay. The real stars are the audience members as they try to solve this mystery.
While this might be an unsavory ending for Chaingo DeLeon, it is the beginning of this audience participation murder mystery. Like you would expect from any theatre troupe -- lots of characters, even more over-acting and way too much overachieving.
One would think the drama ends when the director of a small town community theatre is found dead, you would be wrong, it is also when the comedy and conniving begins. As is the case with all Gem*Boy Production mysteries, lots of local history and crazy characters.
Audience members will watch a 30 minute first act, after that they become the detectives going to the clue sites and interviewing the cast of suspects. Then, during dinner, they will write down their 'report' on who did it, with a chance to win prizes with a correct answer.
The key is key, who could get into the building, who would know that the director was there?
