A Sip of Murder
Unfortunately, this performance was canceld.
It is unusually for the Adirondack Wine Tasters to be at Friends Lake Inn. A group that is used to drinking Redneck Red Wine, at a place that not only has a wine cellar, but one that the wine is dated in years and decades, compared to the days old wine that AWT is used to...
That is how “A Sip of Murder” begins on June 6, at 7:02 p.m., when Friends Lake Inn hosts the audience participation murder mystery. It is clear the characters of this play all have a motive and are in no hurry to solve the mysterious death of Froggie Ferment.
Happy hour has turned into happy horrors now that Froggie Fermente is dead. Someone made a withdrawal from the slush fund, another was left broken hearted and the French dame wanted to keep her secret a secret. And what mother wouldn't want to kill the 50-something playboy dating her 18 year old daughter or the woman with many virtues, but none of them related to romance? So many reasons to kill Froggie, but only one corpse and one killer.
Five women--- the 'unusual suspects' --- and one dead guy. The stage is set for another wine tasting fundraiser, but there is a little apprehension about who will take the first sip. That is because the last fund raiser there was some wine with a little extra kick --- enough kick to kill.
It appears someone slipped poison in the samples at the last wine tasting. Everyone had a reason... and more importantly --- an opportunity to do the slaying. When you consider that the poison may have been digested even before the wine tasting started, there were many openings for ending Froggie's life.
The audience will watch as the first act unfolds. Each character's reason for killing will be revealed. Then they will be in charge of going to clue sites to interview the suspects, and finding the murderer. Only the smartest of the investigators will be able to see through a false alibi.
After the interview, the audience investigators will enjoy fine dining with a meal specially created by Executive Chef Scott Dewar to fit a night of intrigue. Regardless of class (or lack of) of the characters in “A Sip of Murder,” the audience will savor a night of splendor.
