Dublin

The day started with walking the city. Gary read to us from the tour book so we would know what we were looking at.
The Spire of Light is made from stainless steel. It is in six sections and towers over 120 meters (394 ft). Dubliners have nicknamed it “The Stiffy at the Liffey”, “The Erection at the Intersection” and “The Stiletto in the Ghetto”
We had tickets for a 2:30 pm tour of the Guinness Brewery. We mostly skipped the tour and went straight to the tasting room.
In the evening Gary, Jeff, Shelly and I went to a dinner performance of Food, Folklore, and Fairies at the Brazen Head Pub, the oldest pub in Ireland. A storyteller took us into a world of the imagination with wonderful insights and mystical tales about Irish life in times past.
While we were at the Brazen Head Pub Greg and Marisa were celebrating their engagement at dinner. We all met up at the Horseshoe Bar in the Shelbourne Hotel. The bar is renowned for celebrity sightings though we didn't see anyone famous. We found this bar earlier in the day and liked it so much we returned to cap off the evening.
