The ship docked in Juneau at 9:00 am. It was raining which shouldn’t have been a surprise since Juneau is located in a rainforest. It is the only capital city in the US which is not accessible by road, only by air or water.
Our first excursion was a whale watch boat tour. We were incredibly fortunate to see at least 6 Humpback whales and 12-14 Orca Killer whales along with Steller sea lions.
We ate lunch in Juneau and then boarded a sea plane for a tour of five glaciers. It had stopped raining so we had an excellent view from the plane.
