Our last day of the cruise. It has been everything we hoped and more. We are fortunate to have been assigned a small dining room with flexible eating times and seating. This has allowed us to meet a number of interesting people from all over the US. The excursions have also been a good way to meet people. It is fun to see them again as we walk around the ship and stop to compare notes on various activities. One couple we met in Anchorage at the start of the trip. We sat with them in the hotel conference room waiting to be called for the bus. We attended one of the theater performances with them and hope to meet up again tonight. We also met a couple from Australia who we teamed with for a trivia contest (we took second place) and a woman from South Africa who is traveling around the world by herself.
A Minnesota couple told us they bought their trip through a special offered by Costco. They received all kinds of free upgrades and passes. I will be paying more attention to the Costco magazine from now on.
Today we saw the sun for most of the day. We sat on the back deck playing cards and reading, just soaking up the sun.Gary went to the steam room and I walked around the ship to take pictures of the interior.
One of the many restaurants
We never did go in the pool, it was just too cold.
This has been a trip we will never forget. A truly memorable way to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary.
