Flow Cytometry

We have 5 Flow Cytometers based on the St James's University Hospital campus providing answers to a wide variety of needs, from single colour assays to complex multi-colour panels and cell purification.

As a heavily used Core Facility we are constantly renewing and updating equipment with cutting edge technology to provide more potent outputs for less cost, time burden and smaller sample requirements. We are cuttingly looking to incorporate new analyser systems taking us to 20-plus fluorescent parameter measurements with high-throughput capabilities to provide true cytometric screening capabilities.

Our Flow Cytometers are broken down into two categories based on their outputs:

• Flow Cytometry Analysers - Fluorescent analysis assessment and cellular functional dynamic measurement outputs.
• Fluorescent Activated Cell sorting - Fluorescent analysis assessment and cell purification outputs (including index cell sorting for Next Generation Sequencing).
