Tuesday 5.26.20

reading:

  • phonics- Practice the /oo/ sounds (like in goose vs look) by watching this video and sorting spoons. You can either write on plastic spoons and sort those or print and cut the paper spoons before sorting. This activity is also available in electronic form on Seesaw.

  • comprehension-Listen to Ice Cream by Gail Gibbons. Use the flipgrid link (on Seesaw or in parents' email) to tell us one fact that you learned today.

math: Practice adding and subtracting larger numbers with the Scoop It Up game.

writing: Think of a dessert that you LOVE! Tell me why it is so great and where I can get it using the 5 Star Dessert prewrite.

Wednesday 5.27.20

reading:

  • Phonics- Sorting Spoons Worksheet - Read the words and look at the pictures. If the word or picture makes the /oo/ sound like ‘spoon’, color the box blue. If it makes the /oo/ sound like ‘look’, color the box yellow.

  • comprehension- Listen to the informational text on Ice Cream again. Fill in the graphic organizer with facts that you learned.

math: Look at the ice cream data and answer the questions at the bottom of the page.

writing: Type or use your best handwriting to complete your final draft of you 5 Star Dessert writing from yesterday. Be sure to check your spelling and punctuation.

reading:

math: Practice writing fact families (2 addition and 2 subtraction facts with the same 3 numbers) and record your work on this page.

writing: How many flavors of ice cream can you think of? Write down as many as you can!

Friday 5.29.20

reading:

science/STEM: Make Ice Cream! Follow the recipe to make your own ice cream. When you are done, write about what you did.
