Monday 4.6.20

reading: begin with this video on /ed/ endings YouTube -ED or this video on YouTube -ED (another video), and this YouTube - ING video.

  • practice your sight words (there is a list on this sight word coloring page) and/or fluency

  • Journeys Reader's Notebook pages 152-154 (links at bottom of page)

  • read "The Dot" or another story. You can also listen to it on YouTube: The Dot

math: Origo lesson 10.6 and practice pages 374-375

writing: write a paragraph about perseverance with a clear topic sentence, at least three detail sentences, and a closing sentence/conclusion OR choose your own opinion, informational, or narrative paragraph to write.

Tuesday 4.7.20

  • practice your sight words or fluency

  • check out this YouTube video/song on prepositions

  • Journeys Reader's Notebook pages 155-156 (links at bottom of page)

  • read "The Dot" or listen to it at YouTube: The Dot. Retell the beginning, middle, and end in order with as many events as you can remember. You can do this on Seesaw or to your parent or another person in your house.

math: Origo lesson 10.7

writing: Revise your paragraph by reading it out loud to someone else. Add details like color words, transitions (first, next, then, also, last), and other words that help make a picture in someone else's mind.

Wednesday 4.8.20

  • practice your sight words

  • practice blending words (using this powerpoint or your spelling words)

  • Journeys Reader's Notebook pages 157-158 (links at bottom of page)

  • read "The Dot" or another story about characters that learn to persevere. Draw your own dot and share it with your teacher via email, Bloomz/Dojo, or Seesaw.

math: Origo lesson 10.8 and practice pages 380-381

writing: Edit your paragraph by checking for capital letters at the beginning of your sentence, periods at the ends of sentences, and any spelling changes you need to make so that you and others can read your work.

Thursday 4.9.20

THURSDAY:

  • Journeys Reader's Notebook pages 160-162 (links at bottom of page)

  • read and practice your expression and rate and/or practice your sight words

math: Origo lesson 10.9

writing: Publish your paragraph by drawing a picture that matches your words. Then type or write it in your best handwriting. When you're done, take a picture and add it to your Seesaw or email it to your teacher.

Friday 4.10.20

  • practice your sight words (then for Room 7) and do the week 26 Seesaw activity to show me what you learned

  • Journeys Reader's Notebook pages 164-166

  • read out loud to someone or record yourself reading in Seesaw

math: Origo lesson 10.10 and practice pages 386-387

writing: Write a letter to someone you know to encourage them to keep going. Use advice from "The Dot" and include your own ideas. Draw a picture to match and mail or deliver it OR write a new paragraph (opinion, informational, or narrative).
