writing: Brainstorm an idea for another personal narrative (story about YOU). Create a circle map and sketch of your story.

Tuesday 4.28.20

reading:

  • practice your sight words or fluency

  • practice spelling words (You could play tic-tac-toe or hopscotch with them!)

  • Journeys Reader's Notebook pages 200-202 (links at bottom of page)

  • read "Hi Fly Guy" or another story

  • Retell the beginning, middle, and end in order with as many events as you can remember. Include as many parts of the story structure as you can (characters, setting, events, etc.). You can do this on Seesaw or to your parent or another person in your house.

writing: watch this writing lesson from Susan Jones

Wednesday 4.29.20

reading:

  • practice your sight words or spelling (idea: make a spinner with your words in each section. Use a paperclip for the spinner and then graph which word pops up when you spin.)

  • read "Hi Fly Guy" or another story about insects. You could also use the Sora app or another book site to have your child read this text.

  • practice blending words (using this powerpoint or your spelling words)

  • Journeys Reader's Notebook pages 203-205 (links at bottom of page)

math: Origo lesson 11.11

writing: Read the story you wrote yesterday. Add adjectives (colors, smells, sounds, number words, etc.) and adverbs (how people move, talk, or act).

Thursday 4.30.20

reading:

  • read and practice your expression and rate and/or practice your sight words

math: Origo lesson 11.12

writing: Edit your personal narrative by checking for capital letters at the beginning of your sentence, periods at the ends of sentences, and any spelling changes you need to make so that you and others can read your work.

Friday 5.1.20

  • practice your sight words (and for Room 7 kids: do the week 29 Seesaw activity to show me what you learned)

  • Journeys Reader's Notebook pages 208-209, 211 (links at bottom of page)

  • read out loud to someone or record yourself reading in Seesaw

math: Origo lesson 11.12 - practice.

You could also count the money in your piggy bank or purchase something at the store with coins.

writing: Publish your personal narrative by drawing a picture that matches your words. Then type or write it in your best handwriting. When you're done, take a picture and add it to your Seesaw or email it to your teacher.
