As a child, I loved playing computer games - GTA, Roadrash, Need For Speed were some of my favorites.

To now know I can actually ‘be in those worlds’, is super exciting!

This is the broad idea of a METAVERSE - a virtual world where people will be able to create their identity.

While all this seems kind of unreal, these metaverses might become a part of our daily lives very soon:

i. Tech companies are developing their own metaverses: Microsoft is creating one to enhance work environments, while Facebook(Meta) is tapping into social interactions;

ii. Our next pair of Nike sneakers may be an NFT: Nike’s acquisition of RTFKT - a company that makes digital sneakers - clearly shows the company’s intentions to enter the metaverse play;

iii. Even Disney is planning to enter the game and revolutionize the entertainment business;

And as this domain develops more, the healthcare industry will also improve the proficiency of medical devices and expand the reach of medical care - the WHO and various medical schools are already using AR for training practitioners.

So one thing is certain: Metaverses are going to get BIG, and with it, the world will be more connected than ever!
