What can you expect in an entry-level investment banking interview?
******
1) Questions around commercial awareness and market awareness:
-- Talk about one of the deals that is ongoing in the market?
-- Anything in the financial news that has interested you?
-- What is the M&A deal that you got excited about in the last few weeks?
2) Questions around valuation techniques and financial statements:
-- This is only to test your understanding of these topics. You can learn these concepts even if you are a Non-finance student.
3) Increasingly banks are having #PYTHON as a pre-requisite. Having Python on your resume could be helpful. If you have it on your resume, do expect a few questions around it.
4) Expect "Situational Judgement" questions in the pre-interview evaluation. You can be very smart and answer all the questions in Verbal and Reasoning, but you need to know the values of the organization and be personally comfortable to answer Situational Judgement questions appropriately.
5) Be ready to answer generic questions such as - Why IB, Why this firm, etc.
