“India's unemployment rate hits 4-month high of 7.9%: CMIE”
This means more people in India are willing to work but are not able to find jobs.
Further, the shockwaves of the second wave had not subsided completely when the third one has already arrived. In these circumstances, maintaining finances becomes very tough.
But the question is: What to do if you are out of a job?
i. Market your skills: Whether it is your core job skill or a side hobby - showcase it. It could be digital marketing or graphic designing, anything you are good at.
You can use platforms like Fiverr or even post on relevant Facebook groups;
ii. Build a side hustle: Unemployment shows that it is not wise to rely on only one source of income. So if you can, experiment with a small biz that can act as another source of income in dire times;
iii. Learn new skills: The job market is changing rapidly, and automation is replacing a lot of manual jobs. But new jobs are also coming up.
So try to learn the skills which have a rising demand in the market - Excel modeling, Blockchain development, etc. are to name a few :)
Being out of a job can be quite scary, but one must try to stay calm. Planning, persistence, and hard work need to be amplified in such situations.
