UNDERWATER CHAMPIONS GET SECOND TROPHY IN ONE YEAR
The sport was known as bubble-ball, an underwater sortie that earned millions of dollars for the country every season. The aim of the game was to use a string of bubbles to breathe, while advancing upon the opponents goal line. If you score, the team loses one of their bubbles of precious air, and are forced to swim further, stay in fewer areas, and defend their bubbles even more.
The American team were like natural fishes. Their incredible run was due in part to the equipment they used to train. A bubble machine which slowly released less and less air helped them get used to losing bubbles in matches. When it broke in a flurry of bubbles, the manager realized they'd need a new machine, and it would cost thousands.
