About the role:
Primarily responsible for ensuring that the group has the best interests of our minority ethnic members at heart.
Ensure that communications are understandable and our events/activities are accessible to minority groups.
Also responsible for ensuring that the group is able to provide minority ethnic members with a balanced level of support where necessary, whilst keeping the position of the group impartial and non-political.
They must ensure that the group is collecting accurate attendance records for those who may request asylum support letters in the future.
They are responsible for making identity checks prior to distributing support request letters as required by the group’s policy and procedures for providing asylum support letters.
They will work alongside the Safeguarding Officers and Dispute Resolutions Chair to ensure the group's behavioral code of conduct and misconduct policies are accessible, fair and understandable to minority ethnic members.
They will have full involvement in discussions surrounding future changes to policies and procedures.
They will also undertake any training required to advance their knowledge to perform this role.
