Unit: Fireboat 4 / Engine 4 / MV Leschi
Department: Seattle Fire Department
Model: 2007 Dakota Creek Industries 108'
Station: Fire Station #5 - 925 Alaskan Way, Seattle, WA (Downtown Waterfront)
About: The M/V Leschi is the flagship of the Seattle Fire Department's fleet, and the largest vehicle in the department. The Leschi, like the neighborhood, is named for Leschi, a chief of the Nisqually who led his people in the Yakima Wars against the US and was controversially executed in 1858. Sometimes known as Engine 4, the Leschi can pump 22,000 gallons of water per minute and has a top speed of 14 knots (16 mph). It also has a specialized CBRNE system to protect occupants in the case of an attack. Engine 4 Transport, a pickup at Station 5, is named after this unit. E4 Transport transports firefighters between the two stations with fireboats.
