PICU (PGY2) Rotation

The following EPAs should be focused on during this rotation:

  • FOD1: Recognizing deteriorating and/or critically ill patients and initiating stabilization and management(link to form)

  • COD2: Resuscitating and stabilizing critically ill patients (link to form)

  • COD3: Assessing patients with medical and/or psychosocial complexity (link to form)

  • COD11: Coordinating transitions of care for patients with medical or psychosocial complexity (link to form)

You can also start to work on the following EPAs during this rotation:

  • FOD7: Performing basic pediatric procedures (procedures available for this rotation include: lumbar puncture in neonates and infants; changing tracheostomy) (link to form)

  • FOD10: Transferring clinical information between health care providers during handover (link to form)

  • COD5: Providing ongoing management for patients with chronic conditions ( link to form)
