NICU Level III JR (PGY2) Rotation
The following EPAs should be focused on during this rotation:
FOD1: Recognizing deteriorating and/or critically ill patients and initiating stabilization and management (link to form)
FOD2: Managing low risk deliveries and initiating resuscitation (link to form)
FOD4: Assessing, diagnosing, and initiating management for newborns with common problems (link to form)
FOD7: Performing basic pediatric procedures: mask ventilation (link to form)
COD1: Resuscitating and stabilizing neonates following delivery (link to form)
COD9: Performing Core Pediatric Procedures: UAC/UVC, IV, OG/NGs, urinary catheter, intubation, surfactant admin (link to form)
You can also start to work on the following EPAs during this rotation:
FOD7: Performing basic pediatric procedures. Procedures for this rotation include: cardiopulmonary resuscitation and lumbar puncture in neonates and infants (link to form)
FOD8: Communicating assessment findings and management plans to patients and/or families* (link to form)
FOD9: Documenting clinical encounters (link to form)
FOD10: Transferring clinical information between health care providers during handover (link to form)
FOD11: Coordinating transitions of care for non-complex pediatric patients (link to form)
