Ped Surgery Rotation

The following EPAs should be focused on during this rotation:

  • FOD5: Assessing, diagnosing, and managing patients with common pediatric problems (link to form)

  • COD9: Performing core pediatric procedures. Procedures to focus on during this rotation: G-tube re-insertion, accessing port-a-cath, chest tube, iv insertions, manage occlusion long-term access line, NG tube insertion, urinary catheterization (link to form)

You can also start to work on the following EPAs during this rotation:

  • FOD1: Recognizing deteriorating and/or critically ill patients and initiating stabilization and management (link to form)

  • FOD6: Providing primary and secondary preventive health care (link to form)

  • FOD8: Communicating assessment findings and management plans to patients and/or families (link to form)

  • FOD9: Documenting clinical encounters (link to form)
