My interest in the marine environment has led me to my final year project investigating marine bioreceptivity among six green concretes. I found the process of identifying macroalgae through a stereomicroscope enjoyable, although this necessitated a substantial investment of time in the laboratory.

In summer, I became open water certified in the ridiculously clear waters of Tioman. Experiencing a state of neutral buoyancy underwater amidst massive coral formations, aquatic fauna and macroalgae was incredible.

More recently, I have embarked on the first chapter of my masters on the ecological engineering of pier pilings to enhance marine biodiversity. My second chapter will involve testing simple and complex tiles in the subtidal environment.
