5-Shared Leadership

5.1 Student Leadership Roles

Students at EES apply for classroom leadership roles and interview for publicly displayed, schoolwide leadership roles based on school needs and student ideas. Students overcome challenges, evaluate skills, mentor others, and transfer skills learned in leadership roles to areas inside and outside school.

Leadership Roles Application form

In previous years at EES students would apply for Leaderships Roles after they were introduced during an assembly. This was an exciting time for students to see what role they could fit into. All students are encouraged to join a team.

Art Leadership Team

Leaders who are eager to tap into their artistic talents. These leaders will create masterpieces for the school. These leaders will work with Mr. Lee and Ms. Young and will meet on Friday at lunch time in the Cultural room.

Assembly Team

Leaders who are eager to help prepare for our monthly assemblies. They will lead the assemblies by announcing awards, emceeing the events, and helping with set up and take down. They will meet prior to assemblies. These leaders will work with Mr. Erickson and Mr. Young.

Student Lighthouse Team

Leaders who are eager to help build the Leader in Me culture in the school. They will meet on Wednesdays and Thursdays in room 224. These leaders will work with Mrs. Olson and Ms. Acuna.

School Spirit Team

Leaders who are eager to help prepare fun and exciting events for the school. They will advertise these events and let Mrs. Michael know of all events planned. These leaders will work with Ms. Chow in room 172 on Mondays and Fridays at lunch.

Speaker Leaders

Leaders who are eager to speak at our events that include the Leadership Day, Christmas Concerts, and other events in the school. They will also help with morning announcements. They will meet with Mrs. Michael and prepare and practice throughout the year during lunch time and after school if needed.

Green Team

Leaders who are eager to help organize and upkeep our plants and gardens. These leaders will work with Ms. Walker and Ms. Johnston on Tuesdays at lunch recess.

Library Helpers

Leaders who help in the library. These leaders will work with Mrs. Krogsgaard in the library on Wednesdays and Fridays at lunch.

Inspirational Writers Team

Leaders who practice their creative writing skills and submit writing for the newsletter! Writers will meet on Tuesdays with Mrs. Lee in room 205 at lunch.

Clean Team

This team is so dedicated to cleaning they came to get garbage bags and started to clean the front of the school without being reminded AND it was a Monday morning!

Recyling Team

Leaders who are eager to save our Earth through recycling. These leaders will collect bottles for the school. These leaders will work with Mrs. Niederlag and Mrs. Anderson and will meet on Friday during the last recess in room 202.

Reading Buddies/Leading Buddies

Leaders who help tutor their peers in reading and math. These leaders will work with Ms. Lawrence, Mrs. Niederlag and Ms. Breaker in the library on Tuesdays and Thursdays at lunch.

Library Leaders

Students were thinking win-win as they helped get the library organized.

Technology Team

Leaders who are eager to learn more about technology. These leaders will work with Mrs. Auger and meet Mondays during lunch time in her office.

Drum Group

Leaders who are eager to learn how to drum. They will lead the assemblies and all special events. These leaders will work with Mrs. Dumonceaux and our drum instructors and meet Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursday during lunch.

Cree Annoucement Leaders

Leaders who are eager to speak Cree and practice their public speaking skills. These leaders will do our morning announcements in Cree. These leaders will work with the Cree teachers and meet on Fridays at lunch in room 206.

Beading Leaders

Leaders who practice beading. These leaders will work with Ms. Pam Mackinaw and Ms. Leliever in room 210 at lunch on Tuesdays.
