The annotated bibliography shows a familiarity with diverse texts across genres. Selecting and evaluating the books in the annotated bibliography allowed me to become familiar with criteria for evaluating different genres of texts. It also widened my familiarity to include books and topics that I would not regularly choose to read. Student tastes vary and its important for the librarian to be familiar with a wide selection of books in oder to make appropriate recommendations.
