In 2012, I graduated from The University of Pan American with a B.A. in English. As an undergraduate, I worked as an English tutor for the McAllen ISD Migrant program. During that time, I became invested in providing educational opportunities, especially for students who faced socioeconomic hardships. After graduating, I spent the next 4 years teaching English Language Arts at the secondary level for IDEA Public Schools, a charter school districted aimed at closing the achievement gap for students from underserved communities. My time in the classroom sparked my interest in educational technology and I'm currently working toward my Master's in Library Science at Texas A&M University-Commerce.
