Standard 6: Learner- centered Information Science and Librarianship- Principle 3 (RATED ACCEPTABLE) This standard was rated acceptable due to a lack of an advisory committee that could use statistical data to evaluate and set goals to improve the library program.
This Long range plan was created through evaluations analyzed by the library committee. It uses data to create goals that the library can work toward over time. There are many goals that take a lot of planning and time to accomplish, so developing a long range plan creates focus and direction for the library program.
It corresponds with Standard 6 Learner-centered Information Science and Librarianship- Principle 2 by using student and staff data to set goals and improve the library program. Using surveys and the perspectives of diverse stakeholders on the committee provides a way to make goals that reflect the needs and interests of all library users.
