Now that you know a bit more about Google Workspace for Education tools - what else is out there? For this task, you'll pick facilitation tools from your textbook and explore it in-depth. Then, you'll build artifacts with the tools you explored and post them to your Facilitate page.
There are hundreds of tools to explore in your textbook. I've identified several types of tools below that I think fit under the "Learning Facilitation" category - but you are more than welcome to choose a tool from your textbook that is found in a different tool chapter.
Before you start - read the overviews for several types of facilitation tools in our textbook. It's going to take me longer to type out the list than it will take you to read them - so don't worry!
Read the 1-page overview for each section and skim through the tools.
Assessment p. 69
Classroom Management p. 86
Feedback p. 121
Flipped and Blended Learning p. 129
Games p. 137
Interactive lessons p. 158
Note-taking p. 203
Parent Engagement p. 207
Presentation p. 221
Productivity and Planning p. 226
Social & Emotional Learning p. 244
Survey Tools p. 275
Now that you've read about 12 different types of facilitation tools, select one or more categories that is most interesting to you. Visit and have a look at at least three websites of tools that you haven't used before.
(Example) If I was interested in presentation, there are 10 different assessment tools explained in the textbook from p. 221. I'm already familar with Canva, Google Slides, and Prezi - so I will spend 5 minutes reviewing 8 other tools to get a quick overview of each website. I may look for additional presentation tools outside the textbook.
Among the tools you explored, select 2 tools you liked. Spend more time and experiment with various features of the tools.
Create an artifact for each tool (in total, 2 artifacts) to demonstrate what you've learned about the tool.
(Example) I'll create a learning module on Nearpod using the learning materials from last semester. The module will include the "Time to Climb" game, videos with interactive questions, multiple-choice questions, and real-time drawing activity.
Insert links, videos, or screenshot images (whichever makes the most sense for the tool you selected) to display your artifacts on your "Facilitate" page.
(Example) I'll include a link to my Nearpod module or a video screencast.
If you want to insert a video on your portfolio, please upload it to Youtube and then insert the video (Google Sites →Insert → YouTube → paste the video link). You can also upload it to your Google Drive, change the access option of the video file (right-click the file → "Share" → change "Restricted" to "Anyone with the link") and share the link on your portfolio.
For each artifact, write 1-2 paragraphs describing 1) why you selected the tool, 2) what you created and 3) the features you explored in detail.
Make sure to include the name of the tool you selected and a link to the official website.
Click the publish button.
IMPORTANT! Double-check your portfolio link with the incognito browser to see if all resources are set to public view.
If you included a link, please click it and check if anyone with the link can access your artifact.
Select one artifact that you think would be useful to other classmates, or one that you liked (feel free to post 2 artifacts if you want!). Copy the link/screenshot/etc. that you have posted on your portfolio and paste it to the shared Padlet wall.
Use the format "first name_last name" as the post title (e.g., Jinny_Hwang).
Add thoughtful comments to at least 2 of your classmates. Remember to include your name in your comment to receive scores for this task.
Please show in your comment that you have thoroughly looked at the classmate's work. A simple "Good job!" will not be so meaningful, right?
A friendly reminder: Interacting actively with your peers counts for a participation score (5% of the total grade).
