We're going to use Google Sites to create a portfolio website. You will organize all of your amazing work in this course. This is also how I will access your work in order to grade it.
One of the things you will learn this semester is a website-building skill; it will serve as a springboard for building websites or portfolios for your future career or interests. At first, Google Sites may seem basic for creating an appealing website. However, once you become familiar with its features, you can create beautiful and professional websites without any design or coding skills. Many experts use Google Sites as their primary portfolio to showcase their skills and creativity. Even businesses and U.S. government departments also use it for their official websites!
You likely already have a Google account. If not - please go to google.com and set one up (you'll need it for several tasks this semester).
Complete all 7 steps in the instruction section (3.5 pts).
Submit your portfolio address on this form (0.5 pt).
Submit your portfolio address on this form.
Your portfolio will be displayed on the "Gallery" page of this website, so other classmates can visit your website.
Please note: Do not share the editor page - you need to submit the published website address. Your portfolio address will be similar to: https://sites.google.com/view/abcde
Here are some examples of great websites that are made with Google Sites. Hope you can get design inspiration for your EDIT2000E website and beyond!
https://www.filiprzepka.com/home : Portfolio of a filmmaker based in Czech. I think you can adapt how he created the "About" page.
https://www.xchu.rocks/home: A research group website from the University of Toronto. I liked how the navy color was used consistently throughout, including the footer.
https://www.avoxarchitects.co.za/home : A business website for Avox Architects.
https://www.wyo.gov/: An official website of the US State of Wyoming.
