As you mingle with the Dragon Village M community, or perhaps even while reading the in-game information, you will come across a lot of terms that can be confusing for the newcomer. Here we have compiled a list of commonly used terms that you can refer to when you are confused by dragon lingo!
ACC: Short for 'Accuracy'.
AOE: Stands for 'area of effect'. An AOE attacker is a dragon whose drag skill deals damage to multiple targets, usually 4 or more.
AT: Stands for 'Ancient Tower'. Also referred to as 'Tower'.
ATK: Short for 'Attack'. This is the shorthand used by the game.
ATK Speed/A Speed: Refers to the Attack Speed stat. 'ATK Speed' is the shorthand used by the game.
Attacker: A dragon whose primary role is to deal damage to the opponent. They are usually Attack Type dragons.
Backline: The rearmost of a team formation.
Bleed/bleed effect: Refers to the Damage Over Time (DOT) effect.
Blue: Refers to Swiftness runes.
Buff: A beneficial effect in battle, such as an increase in stats, or effects such as shield or zombie.
Bulky: Refers to the characteristic of having high DEF and HP, making it difficult for that dragon to be defeated quickly.
Burst: Means shot or attack, such as in the phrase 'single-target burst'.
CC: Usually stands for 'crowd control', which refers to status effects such as stun, sleep, and silence. Some people use this abbreviation to refer to Clan Coins.
CD: Stands for 'Clan Dungeon'.
CDR: Stands for 'cooldown reduction'. Dragons who can reduce the time needed to wait in between using skills are referred to as 'CDR dragons'.
Charizard/Korean Charizard: Fan nickname for Lightning Dragon.
Clan Egg: Refers to an Absolute Legendary Egg, due to the fact that your primary source of Absolute Legendary Eggs will be from Clan Coins.
Colo: Short for 'Colosseum'.
Counter: A dragon, skill, or advanced measure used to battle against an effect or dragon. For example, Penellion can counter Wonder dragons thanks to its buff removal.
CrEv: Short for 'Critical Evasion'.
Crit/CRate: Short for 'Critical Rate'. 'Crit' may also refer to 'Critical Hit'.
Crit DMG/C DMG: Short for 'Critical Damage'. Critical DMG is the shorthand used by the game.
Damager: Refers to a dragon whose primary role is to deal damage to the opponent.
Darkana: Shorthand for Dark Arkana. Other dragon names may be abbreviated similarly.
Dealer: Short for 'damage dealer'. This refers to a dragon whose primary role is to deal damage to the opponent. They are usually Attack Type dragons.
Debuff: A harmful effect in battle, such as a decrease in stats, or an effect such as stun or silence.
DEF: Short for 'Defense'. This is the shorthand used in-game.
DnG: Stands for 'Demong & Gargoyle', the dragon.
DOT: Stands for 'Damage Over Time'. This refers to an effect which takes away a certain percentage of the affected dragon's HP every second.
DPS: Stands for 'damage per second'. This term is used to refer to dragons whose primary role is to deal damage to the opponent.
Eff ACC: Short for 'Effect Accuracy'.
Eff Res: Short for 'Effect Resistance'.
Elemental Towers: Refers to the Tower of Tests.
Eva: Short for 'Evasion'.
F2P: Stands for 'free to play'. Refers to players who do not spend real-life currencies on the game.
Farm: To search for resources, usually by setting your game on auto-repeat.
Frontline: The frontmost of a team formation.
Grind: To search for resources, usually by setting your game on auto-repeat.
Healer: Refers to a dragon whose primary role is to provide recovery for the team. They are Recovery Type dragons.
HP: Stands for 'Health Points'. This is the shorthand used by the game.
Hybrid: A dragon that has a mix of two roles. Usually used to refer to dragons who function as both a bulky support and an attacker.
Korean Charizard: Fan nickname for Lightning Dragon.
Larkana: Shorthand for Light Arkana. Other dragon names may be abbreviated similarly.
LGD: Stands for 'Lightning God Dragon'.
Lim/Limited: Short for 'Limited Dragon'.
Mana battery: Refers to a dragon whose primary role is to double your mana regeneration rate.
Mat: Short for 'materials'. Refers to resources necessary to raise your dragon, such as Closeness Fruits and Evolution Materials.
Med/Medi: Short for 'Meditation', referring to the Ancient Rune.
Nuke: Refers to a dragon with high-damage output that can defeat a minor enemy in one blow. Usually used when discussing Ancient Ruins, a nuke is a dragon that can kill the healing droid in one attack.
Orange: Refers to Solidity runes.
P2P/P2W: Stands for 'pay to play/win'. Refers to a player who spends real-life currency on the game.
Pene: Short for 'Penellion'.
Pink: Refers to Damage runes.
Proc: Refers to a skill activating.
Pull: To do an Advanced Summon.
Purple: Refers to Chance runes.
PvE: Stands for 'player versus environment'. Refers to content where you are not competing against another player, such as Adventure mode and dungeons.
PvP: Stands for 'player versus player'. Refers to content where you are competing against other players, such as Colosseum and Ancient Tower.
Ress: Short for resurrection.
Scale/Scaling: Refers to when a drag skill 'increases proportionately' to a stat.
Sniper: A dragon whose drag skill targets one target, thus dealing high damage.
Spe: Short for ATK Speed.
Squishy: Refers to the characteristic of having low HP and DEF, thus making it vulnerable to heavy attacks.
Support: Refers to a dragon whose primary role is to offer support to its teammates in the shape of buffs, debuffs, status effects, and so on. They are usually Support Type dragons.
Tank: A dragon with high HP and DEF, making it ideal for being in the front and protecting its teammates by taking the brunt of hits.
ToT: Stands for 'Tower of Tests'.
Tower: Short for 'Ancient Tower'. Can also refer to the Tower of Tests.
Vene: Short for 'Venezie' (which is apparently short for 'Veneziebrable').
Witch/Witch Shop: Refers to the Witch's Cauldron.
X formation: Refers to the Scattered Formation.
Yellow: Refers to HP runes.
